We’re passionate about providing high-quality, fresh and seasonal fruit and vegetables — we’ve also been in the business for a long time. There’s been a green grocer at 281 Carlisle Street for over 60 years and, in 1986, Dom Starvaggi took over from his Aunty Sarina.

Dom, along with co-owners Gabriel and John, run Dom’s Balaclava Fruit Mart. We have now been serving the local community and restaurants for more than 32 years! We go to the market every weekday so our shelves are constantly filled with seasonal fruit, vegetables and fragrant herbs our customers can’t stop raving about. 

To make your shop easier, we stock a number of other pantry staples, including rice, pasta, pasta sauce, canned goods, nuts, legumes, olives, vegetable oils, dried fruit, snacks and juices. Fresh eggs, milk and pita bread arrive in store daily. Many of our products are also kosher. We offer free delivery on orders over $50!
